The NCAA is
accepting 2009 Men's and Women's Final Four
ticket applications from March 16 until May 31, 2008.
Visit
www.ncaa.com to submit your application
for the 2009 Final Four in Detroit.
In general, the ticket application process for both the Men's and
Women's Final Four begins mid-March and ends at the end of May of the
preceding year - that's right, you've got to get your
ticket application into the NCAA almost a year in advance!
You may only complete one ticket application, but the NCAA
permits up to ten entries per application. The
NCAA then conducts a random, computerized drawing in July to
determine ticket recipients, and those lucky individuals are
notified via mail by the end of August. The ticket
booklets are sent via overnight mail mid-February. Regardless of the
number of entries, a maximum of one entry per applicant and/or
household will be selected.
Face value for an all-session ticket to the 2009 Men's
and Women's Final Fours are as follows:
Men's Final Four: $170 Upper Level; $150 Distant
View
Women's Final Four: $162
Based on these prices, an
application for two Men's Final Four tickets entered the maximum number of
times will
set you back $3,460! (That's calculated as $170 x 2 tickets
x 10 entries plus a non-refundable processing fee of $6 per
entry) Of course you'll get that back if the
NCAA
doesn't choose your name, but that's still a hefty outlay
for most people. If the NCAA does choose your name, you'll
receive a refund less the price of tickets, so
either way you'll get most of that money back a few months
later.
Finally, if you've missed out on tickets for the current
tournament I recommend you check out Stubhub for your 2008 Final Four tickets.
